The designer claims to have made this erotic toy for women “to show this problem in a different light.” She believes that the topic, though a complex one, deserves our attention, and can be approached without our eternal biases. Indeed, both their appearance and sales method continue to consign this sort of product to the world of pornography, forbidden fruit, and even to a seedy underworld. The designer has broken with these connotations, not only by giving the product a refined look, but also with the right description and packaging. The flier informs us that the product is hygienic, simple, and clean – no doubt for purchase at your local pharmacy. A functionally designed recharger completes the picture. This approach came from observing the perception of erotic toys in contemporary life, from analyzing historical sources, and from consulting specialists in various fields, including medicine. The doubt does remain if this product can still be called a “toy”…
