This design deals with the omnipresent and groundbreaking 3D printing and scanning technology. The designer has not attempted to work on future methods of using this technology, however; nor does she support the general expectations that it will change the face of design, much as MP3s changed the music industry. This student has scanned doll’s furniture, scaled the digital model to the dimensions of ordinary furniture, and printed the pieces using various methods, such as CNC milling. The traces of mold ingots, production deformation, and seams from the original toys have an inspiring effect on the shape of the objects made to human scale.
