The “open design” movement is a new form of sharing knowledge with a strong social focus. Meti follows its ideas – it is a simple and inexpensive storage system based on children’s activities, behaviour and imagination. Children start school at the age when they undergo the greatest and most spectacular development. This is also the time when they are most physically active. The author of the project concentrated on kids’ social openness, interactions, and activities. Children’s imaginativeness was another important source of inspiration. That is why the furniture set has a figurative look with legs, arms, and faces, which let children discover their inner nature on their own. Meti enables kids to construct their own furniture pieces, resembling robots or animals, as well as to build a relationship with objects.
