This degree work is an experimental design of the book by the Hungarian writer Antal Szerb Traveler and the Moonlight. The main protagonist of the novel, Mihály, a native resident of Budapest, tries to give meaning to his life during his honeymoon to Italy. The key problem addressed by the designer is the question of legibility. She has created a typeface not only with glyphs but also with ornaments filling the spaces between the lines and interacting with the letters. Is the richly ornamented book going to be legible or is it just to become a beautiful object to watch and admire?
