This cultural and culinary guide to Japan is the author’s response to the lack of similar publications on the market. All the elements of the book form a coherent whole: the layout, the photos, and the texts have been all created by the designer. Japanese cuisine is the starting point for the story and the key to the guide, whose goal is to encourage users to conscious travel. Apart from conducting research for the purposes of the publication, the author has also designed the information architecture for the book. Its layout makes it possible to absorb large amounts of content and the use of icons and thematic divisions makes selective reading easier. The questions “What?” and “Where” guide readers to the subjects of their choice. Thanks to the extended fold-out pages and the specially framed images, particular details attract the user’s attention.
