Antibiosis is a multisensory experience that uses interactive interfaces to explore the subject of human exploitation of plants. The project reflects the idea of symbiotic coexistence, engaging the audience in terms of vision, hearing, and touch. The installation consists of four objects: three are related to the problem of overexploitation of currently existing plant species, while the fourth refers to their possible future. Clusia alludes to the issue of “decorating” plants by carving words on them. Ginseng touches upon the problem of species that are endangered due to overharvesting. In the Potatoes part, the designer makes a reference to genetic manipulation aimed at creating “enhanced” species. Lastly, Hologram presents a dandelion-like plant as a speculative vision of ruderal species that emit unpleasant sounds in reaction to human threat.
