The project is situated at the intersection of art and design – it aims to explore the possibilities of their coexistence and mutual complementarity. The research focuses not only on the potential of letters, but also on the question of the possibility of functioning simultaneously as a designer and an artist – without having to make an unambiguous choice between these areas. The inspiration for the project was the author's personal relationship with. “Untypical” fits into the broader cultural context of contemporary typography, as well as into a reflection on the identity of the artist-designer.. The author's explorations, draw on the traditions of the avant-garde, graffiti, and the possibilities offered by contemporary technologies. She treats deformations as tools of cognition—not destruction, but liberation of form. This allows her to create typefaces with different shapes, such as Monolit, Lumber, and Glans.
The project is both functional and artistic: the typefaces are ready for use, while the project as a whole can be interpreted as a statement on the limits of visual communication.
