This light vehicle made of magnesium casts is a new version of the scooter with electric back-up. It is meant to help cover short distances, particularly in crowded city centers. It is equipped with a maintenance-free engine (with a system for recharging while braking) by the rear wheel, which has a positive effect on the distribution of the vehicle weight. The designer has supplied the scooter with a lithium-polymer battery weighing 2.9 kg, allowing for journeys of up to 60 km. Placing the battery near the rear wheel has helped the dexterity of the vehicle. The 10-inch tires, shocks, and sturdy footrests increase the comfort of the ride. The telescoping seat does not improve comfort, but it does allow the vehicle to be folded up and tucked into the trunk of a car. If the user wants to burn a few calories, (s)he can use the scooter manually, with only minimal engine support.
