Roleplaying and storytelling activities help small children understand the world and have a positive impact on their ability of abstract thinking. This is the main idea behind the project of an alternative dollhouse, where kids can create their own stories. The project is a small piece of furniture which gives room for narrative games and supports the development of communication skills. Both the dollhouse and the dolls, with their dreamlike looks, favour the creation of new stories. They stimulate symbolic perception of the world and this way help children understand abstract notions such as freedom or empathy. BObO can be used as a therapy tool which fosters the development of speech and helps overcome traumas.
