The author’s typeface design alludes to the tropical monstera. This ornamental plant used to be very popular in Polish homes in the times of communism; nowadays, following the nostalgia and sentiment derived from family stories from the past, it sees a comeback not only as a houseplant but also as a botanical inspiration for both interior designers and typeface designers. The author has decided to create a decorative typeface to use in short texts. The typeface is characterised by the short top and bottom lengthening, vertically-based construction, lowered height of upper case, and rhythmical internal incisions. For aesthetic reasons, the glyphs’ forms contain incisions, resulting from the traps set by the printing ink and adding originality to the project. The typeface includes a wide range of diacritics typical of the Latin alphabet.
