The project addresses the problem of overloading our bodies while working from home at a computer. The author created a costume that draws attention to the body parts that are most vulnerable in a sitting position. The areas of the body where it touches the furniture are specially marked and the costumed is intentionally deformed in these fragments. The costume can be expanded by a set of add-ons related to particular activities performed by people working from home. “The Practical Semi-Armour” is a witty and grotesque and yet rational reaction to how home office workers usually behave. It encourages reflection on the relationship of worktime and relax, on the border between comfort, health, and the body position and human behaviour, on the evolution of human body. The name of the costume refers to a satirical story by the Polish writer Sławomir Mrożek.
