This is the author’s proposal for a new graphic form and a new way of learning Japanese in a series of three books. The Japanese use three different writing systems: hiragana, katakana, and kanji. The textbook is devoted to the first one. The introduction to the book is a kind of guide to its construction. Its basic element are the exercises with characters calligraphed by the author. They help in learning pronunciation and writing. The final part of the book contains a chart with all hiragana symbols, pronunciation help, and space for stamps. Another element of the textbook is a set of stamps to mark the signs that you have already mastered and those that need practicing. When you have learned all the characters from one line, you can mark it with a bigger stamp.
