This is a project of a personal flotation device (PFD) designed to be used in enclosed bodies of water. It is supposed to combine the characteristics of a life vest and a life buoy and it fulfils the requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea. The PFD should also aid the process of pulling the person out of water onshore or aboard a boat. The durable belt made of polyester tape enables a secure grip during rescue operations. Polymer of low density used as a filler allowed shaping the whole form so that it fits the human body as best as possible. Despite its small size, the device provides sufficient buoyancy to keep the user on the water’s surface and at the same time it doesn’t restrict his or her movements.
