Ear Never Sleeps is an audiovisual web essay about the relationship between people and their soundscapes. It is meant to bring the users’ attention towards their audiospheres and support the development of sonic culture in the world dominated by visual culture. The project breaks the general linear patterns of perception, giving the users full freedom of exploration. The navigation through the website takes place on both the visual and the audio levels to enhance perception – the movements between the visual areas are direct equivalents of the sounds the users hear, and the other way round. Thanks to the online form of the project, it remains open to further development and new content.
