Elegant in form, this is a water carafe with a filter system, where the carbon filter doubles as a handle. This combination of two different objects and functions creates a whole – a unit that works well together, and not only from functional perspective, but also from a visual point of view. The inspiration came from the name of the carbon filtration technology, “Madi Drop,” which gives us an image of elongated drops. In Central European restaurants, serving water with meals is not as well established as it is in some other countries in Europe and overseas, a situation which this design aims to improve. But the question remains as to whether the design will increase tap water consumption in other areas, or whether enjoyment of the product will remain in the home.
