The designer was inspired by the result of a study on food waste. The project is addressed to people who are aware of the food waste problem and motivated to introduce meaningful change into their lives. It is an alternative, environmentally-friendly solution, which can run without electricity, in contrast to contemporary refrigerators. The author observed that thanks to its natural properties, unglazed pottery offered an interesting development path for the project. She carried out a survey to learn about the social attitude to the problem of food waste and ran a series of experiments to verify whether ceramic objects were suitable for food storage. In the project, she made use of the processes of capillary action, evaporative cooling, and hygroscopy. The final solution comprises four sets, each consisting of a lid, a base, and a container.
