The smell of sweet pea, the taste of strawberries – they can let loose a number of memories. This kind of experience was an inspiration for the designer’s cooperation with the elderly members of the Civitas Association who take care of the social garden in the city of Dąbrowa Górnicza in Poland. They took up a common challenge of organising the work in the garden, building the sense of responsibility for the place and establishing new relationships over the idea of plant growing. Tools supporting garden work were created. There were also workshops with the senior participants, focused on planning and performing gardening works. Another outcome was the „Violet Corner” – a thematic crop devoted to the association, which makes it possible to organise more events like that in the future. Last but not least, the project consisted in the creation of a marking system and visual identity promoting the idea of urban gardening as well as in developing a planner facilitating work organisation.
