The artist examines selected psychological and design-related phenomena in order to demonstrate how design influences contemporary society. The culmination of this research is an original authorial campaign project. The project is informed by the author’s personal experiences of functioning in crowded and noisy environments, exposure to an excess of visual and informational stimuli in both urban space and the online environment, as well as the technical limitations encountered during the design processThe author was particularly motivated by the expressive potential of visual form, which enabled her to communicate the accumulation and excess of stimuli and their impact on human perception and mental well-being. The project employs both central persuasion strategies, such as the use of statistical data, and peripheral persuasion strategies, including an engaging and visually attractive form. The artist also refers to the concept of an in-group, emphasizing that overstimulation affects a broad segment of society In addition to diagnosing the problem, the project proposes practical solutions, including mindfulness workshops, sensory therapy, art therapy, yoga, and breathing exercises. A key component of each workshop is the use of animations that reflect the dynamics of sensory overload, accompanied by an audio layer composed of the author’s original urban and digital recordings.
