The publication, titled 22 km of River, which in its alphabetical structure refers to an atlas, is based on documentation of a 22 km route along the Svitava River in Brno. The combines texts, photographs, archival materials, drawings, and 3D models into a non-linear mosaic that invites the reader to make their own discoveries. The format and binding of the book are designed with its mobile character in mind – it is easy to carry, opens flat, and physical manipulation is part of the reading experience. While risograph printing is a more environmentally friendly alternative, offering specific colors that cannot be replicated digitally and a unique texture to the printed material, several digitally printed pages expand the color palette and disrupt the otherwise color-consistent visuals. The book, 22 km of River, does not create a comprehensive picture of the landscape, but rather reflects its changeability, fragmentation, and unattainability as a whole The book thus develops a discussion about how we can perceive, record, and subsequently interpret urban areas.
