The author of the project analysed the opportunities for creating personalised cycling helmets. The existing solutions use state-of-the-art technologies but are usually mass-produced. In order to find innovative yet personalised technologies, the designer experimented with materials, the construction of the object, and its thickness. As part of the design process, she created several prototypes of diverse structures: hexagonal, octagonal, triangular, or diamond-shaped. All of them underwent durability tests. Eventually, the honeycomb structure turned out to be the most durable protection for the helmet. The resulting helmet model can be adjusted to the scan of the user’s head. The project is accompanied by a mobile app.
