Anna Jiroutová’s MA project is a travel journal and a guide to places in the Central Bohemia Region of Czech Republic with amusing names. The book is divided into fourteen chapters, describing villages that Anna visited, where she spoke with interesting people and discovered fascinating places. The jury highly admired the book’s concept, as a very personal guide through places on the map that are often omitted by the popular guidebooks. The illustrations are both witty and informative (some of the jurors had reservations about the cover design, however). The publication also includes a map with a suggested route for tourists and cyclists, which might entice trippers to visit lesser known spots in the Prague vicinity.
