The installation sets aside an individual area in the exhibition space where the visitor encounters and confronts “empty time”. The designer explores the themes of the observation of time and creative time as a time-dividing activity. The system has three main parts that are closely related and point to each other: the real-time video documentaries, the book that processes the observation situations, and the carpet, an explicit manifestation of creative time. The work is based on the structure of mediaeval books of hours, which divided the day with prayers, work, and social time, making space for silence and personal leisure. The structure traces these motifs in a contemporary context, in response to the experience of time today.
