The publications covers basic subjects related to designing visual identity in architecture: both to the possible types of communication and to the role of designers. Its goal is to improve the effectiveness of collaboration among architects and designers. The four chapters forming the book show the history of written elements in architecture as well as explain what visual communication is and what functions it has in various environments (e.g. an airport, an office building, or a city). The book also documents several projects realised by interdisciplinary teams. It presents good practices and other innovative comprehensive projects. The target readers of the book are mainly architects, as it proves that their cooperation with 2D designers can be really fruitful.
