“Transformation of Type Design” is a pseudo-scientific diary dedicated to experimental type design. The designer aimed to recreate the vibrancy of letterpress printed type in a digital context, without copying print imperfections. She also wanted to capture some important themes in the field, such as contemporaneity, redesign, and playfulness. As part of the project, she created six drafts of the typefaces, accompanied by diary-like input. The formal side of the design is inspired by office documents, diaries, and research notes. Different types of paper in different colours were used to separate the subject sections. The book could be of use to typography students as well as professionals as an alternative view of type design or an inspirational resource.
