The thesis deals with responsibility related to graphic designing inspired by culture and art of the Land of the Raising Sun.. The aim is to analyse and indicate features that are characteristic for Japanese aesthetics and to find the difference between inspirations present in Europe. A comparative analysis was conducted on the discrepancies between the superficial borrowing of visual elements and the conscious interpretation of Japanese artistic heritage. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on Japanese aesthetics, the history of ramen and the circumstances of its popularization, as well as design semantics. The practical part, on the other hand, concerns the author's visual identity design for a fictional restaurant – Noi Tako Ramen Shop. The thesis draws attention to the phenomenon of the expanding role of graphic designers—from project executors to “cultural interpreters” responsible for a conscious and ethical approach to inspiration, which is a key element of professionalism in creative work.
