The project is a collection of outdoor furniture for cafés. The set consists of a table, a chair, and an armchair. The starting point for the designer was the functionalist approach, which focused on the simplicity and functionality of objects. Functionalist furniture was often made of steel components. The designer also uses this material, but he intends to approach it from a fresh perspective and to make full use of its potential. Consequently, he reduces the amount of material used – where a traditional designer uses two tubes, he uses one. This way, the weight of a chair is reduced by one-third. This design path leads to a form of furniture which diverges from the functionalist inspirations.
