Facescan is an online platform which responds to the growing number of companies developing face recognition technologies. The goal of the project is to raise awareness concerning the negative aspects of such technologies. Users have a chance to see directly how face recognition systems identify their faces and what factors may be problematic. Based on simple graphic solutions illustrating emotions and moods, Facescan emphasises the difference between the human eye perception and technology. Human eye can see faces in graphic symbols, whereas face recognition systems are unable to do so. The target audience of the platform includes anyone over 12. Younger ones do not get access to the textual database but they can use funny educational content adapted to their age, also related to the subject of face perception.
